Action Alert: Contact Rep. Bob Ney ASAP

especially if you live in district 18, which includes Zanesville and Chillicothe. Ney is close to the center of US House of Representatives ethics scandle. It's long and complicated, so here's the Cliff's Notes version:

The Repubilcons changed the House ethics rules to protect their corrupt leader Tom Delay, which has resulted in an ethics-free US House of Representatives since there must be a majority on the House ethics committee to get an investigation, due to the Republicon change, and the committee deliberately has an equal number of Dems and Cons. Last week Rep. Alan B. Mollohan, D-WV, introduced House Resolution 131 to repeal all recent changes, which was ended in deadlock because of the party line votes. Mollohan has decided to use the rare discharge petition to force his bill on the the House floor for a vote, since there are some Republicons left that value ethics. People all over the country are calling their Reps asking them to sign the discharge petition.

So what does this have to do with Ney? Well, Ney and Delay are such good buddies that Ney has now been connected to Delay's Native American casino scandle. So let's give Mr. Ney a call and get his stance on this petition. Be sure call and ask the following question: "Will Rep. Ney sign the discharge petition?" If anyone gets a response, post it here or over at Daily Kos if you are registered over there.
