Well, if you care about those that you would leave behind, a health directive would ease the stress of your death and the grieving process, since you will have left instructions on how to procede should you become unable to state your decision. They don't have to make the difficult decision of whether or not to end your life, which could end to family rifts and/or guilt. On the other hand, if you don't care about those you would leave behind, then I guess you shouldn't care.
